Türkiye continues to implement expansion and modernization projects at several border crossings with Syria, aiming to increase operational capacity, improve infrastructure, and facilitate trade, transportation, and supply chain flows between the two countries.
According to the Turkish Ministry of Trade, expansion works at the Yayladağı border crossing have reached approximately 33% completion, with the crossing’s area being expanded to around 23 dunams and the number of traffic lanes increased to four.
Development works are also continuing at several other crossings, including Akçakale, Çobanbey, and Karkamış, while works at the Nusaybin crossing opposite Qamishli have been completed, pending the readiness and opening of the corresponding crossing on the Syrian side.
These projects are expected to improve border-crossing efficiency, facilitate road freight operations, and reduce waiting times, positively supporting trade and logistics activity between Syria and Türkiye.
At Al Tayseer Logistics, we closely follow developments at regional border crossings due to their direct impact on freight operations, cross-border transportation, and supply chain management.
