The General Establishment for Free Zones has signed eight investment contracts with four local, Arab, and international companies to launch new projects in the Al-Tanf and Al-Yarubiyah free zones along the Syrian-Iraqi border.
The investments cover a total area of approximately 625,000 square meters. Four contracts in the Al-Tanf Free Zone, covering around 500,000 square meters, are designated for logistics and industrial activities, while four contracts in the Al-Yarubiyah Free Zone, covering approximately 125,000 square meters, focus on commercial and service activities.
The investments include oil and petroleum product trading, manufacturing industries, storage, transit operations, and integrated logistics services, supporting cargo movement and cross-border trade.
The projects are strategically important for strengthening commercial links between Iraq, the Gulf states, and Syrian ports, while creating potential connections toward Turkish and European markets and reinforcing Syria’s role in regional trade and transport corridors.
At Tayseer Logistics, we closely follow developments in free zones, trade corridors, and logistics investment due to their direct impact on freight movement, transit operations, and regional supply chains.
