Operational indicators at Latakia Port confirm a continued upward trend in cargo handling and unloading activities around the clock, alongside an increase in vessel arrivals and berthing activity.
According to data from the General Authority for Ports and Customs, the port received around 394 vessels during the first seven months of 2026, including 182 general cargo vessels, 186 container ships, 23 vessels for special purposes, and 3 passenger ships.
During the same period, the total volume of cargo handled reached approximately 2.86 million tons, reflecting growing commercial and maritime activity and an increase in the port’s overall workload.
This performance comes alongside a series of development measures, including:
- simplified customs procedures
- facilitation of import and export operations
- activation of transit movement
- provision of modern equipment and machinery.
These steps have contributed to faster cargo handling and unloading, shorter vessel berthing times, and improved operational efficiency and port capacity.
Latakia Port remains one of Syria's key commercial ports, playing a major role in import and export activity and in connecting Syrian markets to maritime shipping and trade routes.
At Al Tayseer Logistics, we closely follow developments in ports and maritime trade and work to provide more efficient and flexible logistics solutions that support cargo flows and supply chains.
